Mexico 2003

In 2003 we had replaced our 1995 Winnebago Eurovan camper with a 1999.

We decided to revisit Mexico - the first time since our original trip in 1992. This time we did a fairly light trip - Laredo to San Miguel, Patzcuaro,Guanajuato & Zacatecas, with points in between. Highlights included backing up a narrow street in Patzcuaro & taking out my driver's side mirror on a lamp post, meeting Juan Horta at his shop in Tocuaro & buying some masks from the master himself (who passed away 2 years later - we arrived at his shop in 2006 in the middle of the funeral week - Rest in Peace, Juan...). We spent Christmas in Patzcuaro (see the tree on top of the camper :-)with an internation assemblage of Germans & Belgians, who had shipped over their motorhomes. In Guanajuato we had a great campsite & met a very interesting motorcycling ex-marine Colonel with whom we are still in touch. Zacatecas for New Years - strolling through the town & museums was a real treat as well.
