How to use the Google Maps & Slide Shows
Notes on how to use the maps on this site, if you wish to do so:
1) you can zoom in to any area of the route using the "+" & "-" icons.
2)You can change the map to satellite picture view by clicking on "Sat" - & then zoom in for a birds-eye picture of the area.
3)Or you can click on one of the balloons and zoom in using the prompts that will pop up.
4)Click on "View larger map" link located below the map. This will bring the map up in a new window, with a column containing all the points of interest(some with comments). You can click on the points to take you right to a particular sight.
Notes on how to use the slide shows on this site, if you wish to do so:
1) The slide shows play automatically
2) When they get to the end, a green arrow appears in the centre of the show - clicking this DOES NOT restart the show, but rather takes you to the album page on Picasa. The same thing happens if you double-click on the slide show at any time. Once at the album page, you can click on individual pics, or click on "view map" to see where the pics were taken (on all slide shows from 2010 on & the Thor slide show).
3) hovering your cursor over the bottom of the slide show brings up forward, back, pause & play controls.
4) Just above or below each slide show, I have included a link that takes you directly to a thumbnail album with a map showing the location at which each pic was taken.
